Morgan has some useful comments here and on other pages, so be sure to take a close look and follow her advice. Try to write here in a way that hits majors points as a summary of what is to come. Don't rely too much on Brumberger. Start strong...claiming that technical writing is influenced by many things is not a strong start.
I just fixed a word and added a comma you needed. The first Brumberger quote looks strange with the "[" in the middle of everything. Is that intentional? Also, I wonder if your introduction is a little quote-heavy.
